Frisby Primary School Comes Together for Memorial Colour Stroll

Frisby CofE Primary School came alive in a vibrant display of colour, community spirit, and heartfelt remembrance as pupils, staff, and families took part in a special Colour Stroll in aid of Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People. The event was held in loving memory of former pupil Erinne, whose presence continues to be deeply felt across the school community.

The school grounds were transformed into a sea of colour as children and adults took part in the sponsored event, which combined fun, fitness, and fundraising. Bright outfits, laughter, and clouds of colour filled the air, alongside purple balloons chosen as a special tribute to Erinne. The day was a celebration of her life, her kindness, and the joy she brought to those around her.

The Colour Stroll also brought a sense of healthy competition and excitement, with pupils and staff encouraging one another around the course. More importantly, it was a shared moment of unity, families, friends, and the wider school community coming together for a cause that holds deep personal significance.

Rainbows Hospice played a vital role in supporting Erinne and her family throughout her illness. The hospice provided care, comfort, and companionship not only within its dedicated facilities but also through hospice-at-home services, therapy, and specialist play support.

Erinne’s mum, Jenn, shared:

“Last summer, Erinne died from a brain tumour at just seven years old. We couldn’t have coped without Rainbows, they were with us for every stage of Erinne’s journey and beyond, and that was so important for us all. Erinne loved being at Rainbows, especially for the music room and the swimming! For us Rainbows was more than the building, it was everything. At home, we had visits from the complementary therapist and the play specialist. We had a hospice at home team help with Erinne’s care and ultimately, we were so well looked after by everyone. What’s important to us now is that Erinne is talked about and remembered, she was so kind and she lived life to the absolute full. Having experienced Rainbows first hand, Erinne always wanted to support them in any way she could. Erinne would be so proud of everyone at school for supporting Rainbows with a sponsored colour run today. Events like this in aid of Rainbows, help us to celebrate Erinne, so thank you for supporting such a special cause and for celebrating her today.”

Headteacher Charmaine Ainge paid tribute to both Erinne and the school community, saying:

“Today has been a profoundly special occasion for our school. While we remember Erinne with great love and fondness, we also celebrate the joy she brought to our lives and the lasting impact she continues to have on our community. It is an honour to support Rainbows Hospice, whose care for Erinne and her family was exceptional. We are incredibly proud of our pupils, staff, and families for coming together in such a meaningful and joyful way. Erinne will always remain part of Frisby C of E Primary School.”

The event raised an incredible £2,221.30 for Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People. Thanks to the generosity of pupils, families, staff, and the wider community, these funds will help Rainbows continue providing vital care, comfort, and support to babies, children, young people, and their families facing life-limiting and life-threatening conditions.

Frisby CofE Primary School extends its sincere thanks to everyone who participated, donated, and helped organise the Colour Stroll. The school community remains committed to supporting families, celebrating the lives of its pupils, and ensuring that every child remains forever in its heart.
